Known as the major event of the year, Let’s do it, Romania! gathers people from all the corners of our country and for one day they clean all the garbage from streets, parks, forests, national roads, fields and mountains.
This event has a lot of support from local authorities and NGOs. This year, the people met again on a Saturday morning, September 16th. The main goal was to make Romania a cleaner country. From toddlers to the elderly, everyone helped for a couple of hours in various places cleaning the trash that others “forgot” to take home after a party, a picnic, a hike or simply a walk.
This initiative is unique in Romania and at the end of the day more than 22.700 tones of trash were collected. Imagine how clean our country would be if we did this more often!
Let’s do it, Romania! is more than an idea. It’s more than an event. It is hope for future generations that things can get better if people are willing and very determined to change something in their behaviour.
So, next September let’s meet again to gain our forces and make Romania great again!
